“Here we go.” Arden dropped one king-sized pillow and one quilt on the narrow air mattress. The inflatable bed was thick and actually looked comfortable, but he was fairly certain is was even more narrow than the booth cushions they’d cuddled on the night of the storm. “This will be okay for you two, won’t it?” A mischievous little smirk pulled at the corner of the blond’s mouth, and Cody shook his head with a little laugh. Subtle, Arden was not.

“It’ll be great, thanks, Arden,” Eben said, stepping out of his boots and pulling the thermal Henley he’d been wearing over his head to reveal a black tank top clinging to every ridge of sculpted muscle on his torso. And his arms! Cody had felt his arms before, of course, but seeing them bare...all bunching sinew and golden skin. He swallowed—hard—sure both Eben and Arden could hear him, only to have that suspicion confirmed when Arden hummed his agreement before making a hasty retreat.

“Let me know if you guys need anything!” Arden stepped out of the large pantry, leaving the door cracked behind him.

“Feels like old times, doesn’t it?” Eben asked with a smile as he reached for the button of his jeans.

That startled a laugh out of Cody. It did feel like old times. The party had kept right on going after the ball dropped and now, in the wee hours of the morning, most everyone had opted to crash at the cabin. Arden and Lex had produced several air mattresses and a huge stack of blankets and pillows. Eben had grabbed this one up for them, but it was Arden who directed him to place it in the spacious pantry floor. Unlike the last time they’d shared a sleeping space, it was warm and the overhead light showed no signs of going out. “Y-yes, it does.”

If Eben noticed his nerves, he didn’t say anything and Cody was grateful. Following Eben’s lead, he took off his shoes and socks, setting them neatly off in one corner. He didn’t have an undershirt on, so he opted to sleep in his t-shirt. Glancing back, he watched Eben slide his jeans down and off his lean legs, leaving him in a pair of dark boxer briefs, the tank top, and nothing else. Turning back to the wall and biting his lip, Cody decided to go for it. No one wanted to sleep in jeans, and he was tired despite the buzz of excitement and happiness that had been living under his skin all night.

Once he’d stripped off his jeans, he folded them neatly and laid them on top of his shoes. Turning around, he found Eben already laying on the mattress, the quilt pooled at his waist and one arm tucked up behind his head. He was watching Cody without an ounce of shame. A lazy smile stretched across his face, and he lifted his other hand, offering it up to Cody.

He clicked off the light and went easily, nerves forgotten as he slipped his fingers over Eben’s palm and lowered himself to wriggle under the blanket.
